Cardano (ADA) is a blockchain platform used to send and receive digital funds. Conceptualized by Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of the popular Ethereum platform, Cardano identifies as a third-generation blockchain. Cardano focuses on scalability and sustainability.
Scalability consists of several important elements. Throughput is how many transactions per second a blockchain platform can handle. Most current platforms cannot manage enough transactions to be efficient as a financial system. Network scalability describes how the more transactions per second a platform handles, the more bandwidth and resources are needed to sustain the process. Data scaling ensures that Cardano can sustain future growth.
In order to reach sustainability goals, Cardano is also planning on creating a treasury to help sustain its future growth and development.
